MAR 1, 2019 'We are civilised!?' is released
(the RPM challenge 2019 album)
In an impulsive moment Bram decided to take on the RPM challenge in 2019, which means that you have to record an album with new music in one month. The album is uploaded on the player here, and can be downloaded as a whole at my noisetrade site.
I probably had no idea what I as doing, and I still don't have a clue, but there are some interesting new songs on the album. Following the tradition there's a lot of styles, subjects and sounds blended together.

All Classic Bram Cools album (plus 'a guide to...') have been uploaded to this site for streaming in addition to the new 'Liminality' which is not a full-album but a collection of both old an new songs. Bram Cools is an out-of-the-box songwriter from Lier, Belgium, producing his own style of DIY music while exploring a lot of musical genres, lyrical themes and even languages.
Starting with home-made lo-fi folk on cassette in the late nineties his musical universe has been expanding and deepening through the years, in an ever-growing catalogue of not very commercial yet always original tunes that range from rock to folk, from shamanic chants to freejazz and from chiptunepunk to triphopfolk.
While most recordings are usually a lot of Bram Coolses multitracked on a variety of instruments, non-instruments, electronics and vocals, the live-shows usually have been more simple, solo on guitar or with a minimal band; but the hope remains to have a big-band one day...
